As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster . . . no, hang on, that’s Henry Hill from Goodfellas. Let’s start again.
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a writer. The great thing about Writing is the only thing you need to do to actually achieve it . . . is WRITE! So that’s what I’ve been doing, sometimes sporadically, often across many media and styles but it’s the one thing I always come back to.
Stories when I was a kid, comedy sketches in my teens, songs since forever, scripts in my day job and in the last few years novels and short stories. It’s no longer quite so sporadic – it’s become something of an addiction.
In 2012 I completed NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) scribbling the first 60,000 words of a novel, then joined a brilliant critique group and began to write and submit short stories for publication and competitions.
I did eventually finish that ‘difficult first novel’ – at least the 80,000 word first draft – and it currently sits in my drawer waiting to be wrangled in to something readable. In the meantime, I’ve begun work on a second novel, details of which will emerge on the blog in the coming weeks and months.
I’ll continue to push out the short stories, novels and anything else that takes my fancy. The Writing life can be a solitary one so I hope you can keep me company along the way. That’s my story – what’s yours?

Thanks for the honourable mention, Honore – much appreciated.
Finally a multitask man! I understand what you mean! I rediscovered my passion just five years ago and NaNo three years ago! I’m trying to balance a job, house and duty and my passion for writing!
Haha – you haven’t seen how badly I multitask! Great to hear you have got back in to writing too. I’ll swing by your blog to see what you’ve been up to. Great to meet you.
Thanks! Nice to meet you too!
Hi! I nominated you for the Leibster blog award (http://neyska.com/2013/05/16/writing-comprimised-and-the-liebster-award/). Do with it as you like. 🙂
Hey Neyska – thanks a million. That’s really kind of you – I am lucky enough to have been nominated for this 3 times, but haven’t yet got around to doing the post, as I’ve been up to my eyes in other writing, but I will make it a priority to do this very soon and I’m really grateful for the nomination. I will update you when the post appears.
